LOCAL MISSIONS

ADULTS ON MISSION
2nd Tuesdays of the month

Stop by one of their weekly gatherings! AOM meets to work on service projects and hear from guest speakers. If you want to learn more about how you can serve your neighbor, this is the place to be!

GO TEAMS

GO Teams are “sent out” on Wednesday and Sunday evenings, following up with families or individuals who have visited our church.

Care Portal Ministry

Mission statement: The Care Portal Ministry at First Roanoke seeks to use the resources that God has blessed us with to meet the needs of at risk families in a way that will connect them to Christ and be involve in a local church. 

Update: So far we have delivered and met the needs of over 14 families since we got started September 11th, 2020, needs such as diapers, formulas, winter clothing, lockbox for medications, gas gift cars, assistance with bills , renovations on a mobile home for a single mother, furnitures, etc.,

Services

  • We help deliver and meet needs that comes in through the Care Portal database, which is a database that families and caseworker can go through to submit actual needs.

DISASTER RELIEF TRAINING

The SBC of Virginia offers training to equip members of SBC of Virginia churches to respond during times of disaster. Each training offers necessary instruction for volunteers to respond with other Southern Baptists around the world during times of disaster and crisis. The training is practical and allows those, 18 years old and above, to serve with confidence. 


You are now required to complete a portion of the DR training online!  “Introduction to Disaster Relief” needs to be completed prior to attending the in-class portion of the training. 

Use code “SBCVDR_2019″ for the online training course to be free. 

Please bring your online course proof of completion to the training event.
