First Place Preschool serves to care for your child in a safe, loving, fun and comfortable environment for both you and your child. Every week, your preschooler will learn truth from God’s Word through a Bible story, memory verse, and application activities. Each week’s lesson builds upon a foundational truth. Our purpose is to teach children that God made them, that He loves them, and that Jesus wants to be their friend forever!
Programs and Hours:
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 5:30PM.
We operate year-round, but we are CLOSED on major holidays and for a week at Christmas.
We provide care for children ages 18 months through 5 years.
We offer a licensed Kindergarten for children who are 5 years of age by October 15th.
Kindergarten hours are from 9:00AM to 1:30PM with before and after care offered if needed.
We have a Summer Camp for Students who have completed Kindergarten through 5th Grade that runs June through August.
The preschool classes use the WEE Learn Curriculum and our Kindergarten class uses the Abeka Curriculum from Pensacola Christian College.
Classes, Enrollment, and Pricing:
Fees due upon entrance for 18 months – Pre-K Classes:
- $75 Registration Fee
- $9 Insurance Fee
- $175 Material Fee
- $422 Escrow (Security Deposit)
- First Week’s Tuition
Before a student’s first day, a classroom visit and parent orientation must be completed for our 18 months through Pre-K classes.
A nutritious lunch and a morning and afternoon snack are provided at NO additional cost for our 18 months through Kindergarten classes.
We have a nice large gym, outdoor playgrounds, preschool playroom, and a indoor playground for large motor play.
There must be a completed application, a current medical and immunization record, and a copy of the birth certificate on file before your child’s start date.

There is a 15% multiple child discount available for certain classes.
Kindergarten Program:
Children must be 5 years old by October 15.
Registration Fee: $200
$425 Monthly for 9am – 1:30pm students
$211 Weekly if before and after care is needed.
The Kindergarten Program is NOT eligible for any discounts.
Summer Program:
Students must have completed Kindergarten in order to be eligible for this program.

CDC Director
Kimberly Whitenack is the Director of First Baptist Child Development Center. She has been on staff with the CDC since August of 2006. During her time at the CDC she has served as an Assistant Teacher, Lead Teacher, Enrollment Coordinator, Assistant Director, and as of February 2020, the Director. Kimberly has grown up in the Roanoke Valley where she attended Roanoke Valley Christian Schools and graduated with her Associates Degree in 2009 from Virginia Western Community College. She is an active member of First Roanoke and often helps with the Children’s Ministry. She has a passion for teaching children and working alongside her staff to ensure a loving, academic, and Christ centered based atmosphere for parents to bring their children. Kimberly lives in the Cave Spring area with her husband, Brian and their 3 children.
