The Student Ministry at First Baptist Church - Roanoke
Serving Students in Grades 6 - 12
At FBC, our student ministry stands upon the word of God for guidance, wisdom, instruction and encouragement. We have centered our ministry around guiding biblical principles, seen in the New Testament, that show what the church is, what the church should do, what the church should look like, and what the mission of the church is. We have adapted these guiding biblical principles and have applied them to our student ministry. Our goal is to teach, encourage, challenge and serve so believers will become more like Christ. We desire to equip student believers so they can make disciples. In order to effectively do this, we have four core purposes we will focus on throughout the year that will equip students to meet others, serve others, tell others and grow others as they in turn grow in their faith.
Growing Others... 2 Peter 3:18... Growing Others in Jesus Christ. Discipleship.
Telling Others... Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8... Telling others the Good News of Jesus Christ. Evangelism.
Serving Others... Mark 10:42-45... Serving others because of Jesus Christ. Service.
Meeting Others... Acts 2:42-47 and Hebrews 10:25... Meeting with other believers because of Jesus Christ. Fellowship.
Above all, we exist to emulate and exemplify Jesus Christ.
