How I came to know the Lord
I grew up in a Christian family. I had heard the gospel many times as a young child, but one night when I was eight years old, the Holy Spirit began convicting me of my sin and need for a savior. Lying in my bed that night, I began wondering what it meant to ask Jesus into your heart. Unable to go to sleep, I finally got up and went to my parents and asked them. They shared the gospel with me, and for the first time, although I had heard the gospel many times, I understood why Jesus had to die for me. That night I repented of my sin and received Jesus into my life.

How I got here
I first felt God's calling me to full time ministry when I was fourteen at a youth camp. For a long time, I struggled with what kind of ministry God was calling me to. At first I thought He might be calling me to foreign missions, but in college I recognized God was calling me to pastoral ministry in the local church. After preparing for the ministry at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, I was contacted by First Baptist and recognized that God was leading my family and me to serve in Roanoke.

Ministry Area Dream
I want to see singles of First Baptist so involved in ministry and serving the church that the rest of the church body looks to the singles for leadership in ministry.
